Sherry Fordyce Memorial Scholarship
The Sherry Fordyce Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Sherry Fordyce, who was a lifelong learner and a very dedicate and enthusiastic Educational Assistant. Sherry's careers as an Educational Assistant began in April of 2003 at Kennedy Elementary School before moving to Grimshaw Jr/Sr High School in 2004, where she remained until the amalgamation of Kennedy Elementary School and Grimshaw Jr/Sr High School into Grimshaw Public School in June, 2017.
During her career, Sherry focused on assisting students in math and science but also got excited about learning in general. Her true legacy is that she touched the lives of her students, colleagues, and her family to make a positive difference for all.
Sherry had a great influence on all of the students she interacted with but especially made connections with those students who required the greatest support.
Sherry ensured the students she supported were pushed towards excellence and made to feel like they belonged at Grimshaw Jr/Sr High School and would be happy to know here students are still being taken care of.
The scholarships available through this fund are meant to assist students in their pursuit of post-secondary education as well as assist with the transition from high school to the workplace.
The winners of the Sherry Fordyce Memorial Scholarship for 2019-2020 are Cassandra Kamphuis and Justin Rasmussen.
